COUCH POTATO RUN CLUB
COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.
(Acceptable Use for our Community & WhatsApp Groups)
This one’s in our voice — because our community is the whole point.
THE SHORT VERSION.
Be kind. Cheer people on. Don’t be the reason someone feels like they can’t come back. That’s genuinely most of it.
THE SLIGHTLY LONGER VERSION.
Couch Potato Run Club only works because of how people treat each other. Whether you’re in a WhatsApp group, at a session, or commenting online, here’s what we ask:
1. Everyone belongs here. No judgment about pace, fitness, size, ability or where anyone’s starting from. The nervous first-timer at the back is exactly who this club is for. Treat them like it.
2. No bullying, harassment or discrimination. Not in person, not in the group chat, not anywhere. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body-shaming, or any kind of abuse gets you removed. Simple.
3. Keep the groups for the group. WhatsApp groups are for programme chat and encouragement – not spam, not selling your side hustle, not pyramid schemes, not endless off-topic noise. Read the room.
4. Respect privacy. Don’t share other members’ contact details, photos or personal information outside the group without their okay. What’s shared in the group stays in the group.
5. Your coach is there to help, not to be on call 24/7. Be patient and kind with the humans running your group – most of what they do, you’ll never see.
6. Look after each other. We run on public roads and paths. Follow the rules of the road, look out for the people around you, and never leave someone behind.
Tell your coach or email hello@couchpotatorunclub.com. We take it seriously, and we’d always rather know. CPRC may remove anyone from a session, group or the community for breaching these guidelines.
That’s it. Show up, be decent, cheer loudly. And most importantly, have fun!
